Lunares Research Station

GREEK NEWSPACE SOCIETY, a Chapter of the National Space Society, has signed a Letter of Intent for collaboration with LunAres, a pioneering specialized research base for the simulation of manned space missions on the Moon and Mars that is the only facility of this type in Europe.

This mutually agreed upon collaboration will focus on the following topics, among others: facilitation of analog manned missions with crewmembers from Greece in the LunAres facility, and investigation and assessment of potential analog sites in Greece that may be of interest for future field activities.

Both organizations strongly support the goal of developing and researching topics linked to human spaceflight technologies for exploration, especially in view of future lunar and martian missions, therefore the joint analog manned missions in LunAres and in potential analog sites in Greece are expected to facilitate the implementation of this shared vision.
